Cool to be sitting on a car whose taillight is worth more than the entire car not running.
So far, I’ve got:
- lots of scams
- two disturbingly aggressive people
- a donation offer that I found out just pushes time time shares with their “free vacation voucher”
- one guy who sent me four apology texts for not buying the car (Dude! It’s okay! This isn’t personal, it’s a car)
- usual shenanigans of people not coming out (again, I don’t take it personally anymore)
- $41 offer from pick n pull
So what do you think, Oppo? I’m thinking about taking out the front seats and accepting pick n pull’s offer. Or, Harold can have it for free.

Um, you have a $41 car, and you’re not considering trying your hand at producing a convertible?
Oppo privileges revoked.

It is a convertible: I converted it from a rolling lunchbox to a stationary shoebox.

Wait, I thought CarMax would guarantee an offer on any car you bring in for appraisal?

I can’t bring it in

The problem is he has to bring it in

You don’t have places advertising “cash for junk cars” on sketchy signs on the side of the road?
I made my first Miata disappear for $150, non-running, late at night, by calling one of those.

I’ll give you $45

i would hate to see this at pick n pull :(
I was offered $60 for my 95 explorer and its ten years newer! But I get it they got overhead .
Give it to an OPPO.

I would like it to go to an enthusiast. Fuck if I had the space I would work on it.

Depending on how much work you want to put in, is parting it out a possibility?

Give it to Harold man.

No room, hard NO from the wife.

Seriously though, find out what the scrap value would be, and sell it for just enough higher to keep scrappers out of your yard. Somebody will pick it up for whatever price that is.

Not even for free. Sorry bud. I don’t want to pour money into a project car while I’m saving up for a new daily.

Oh don’t worry, this would definitely prevent you from saving up for that Lexus

I’ll give you that much...if you tow it to Utah for me.

Is there any chance it can be Roadkilled? Say somebody flew there and turned a wrench for a bit, would it drive?

Car batteries alone are going for 35c/lb.
Steel for 4.5c/lb.
Which is why pretty much any car is worth at least $100+ in scrap value.

I mean, scrap guys should give you more than $41. Pick n Pull had $200 on my $300 Miata, but I guess I can see where a Miata has a higher demand than the Tercel. You can’t just buy a couple tarps and cocoon it in the backyard for a while until you can do something with it?
Alternatively, paint it flat red and advertise it as Jessie Pinkman’s car from Breaking Bad.

Ouch, that’s a tough one. I wish you weren’t so far away.

Well that’s better than the -$5 offer I got from picknpull.
